Nobody should face their mind alone.

Be Empowered Network is a registered Nigerian charity making it normal to talk about mental health, and easier to get help: peer support circles, school and workplace programmes, and a community that shows up.

Why it matters

Nigeria's mental health gap is enormous, and mostly silent.

Millions of Nigerians live with anxiety, depression and other conditions, yet the vast majority never receive care: too few professionals, too much stigma, too little money. Peer support and community education are how we close the distance.

The first response to a struggling mind in Nigeria is usually silence. We exist to change that response.

About us

Started by someone who had been there.

Be Empowered Network was founded by Nnenna Kalu, a tech and health professional, out of her own experience of depression and the realisation that the women around her were carrying pressure and insecurity with nowhere safe to put it down. She built what she could not find: a safe space for honest interaction and wholeness, with professional help alongside it.
